Why "2witter"?

because we're literally the only witter left in the game babyyy! while other platforms chase profits and engagement metrics, we're focused on something revolutionary, something REAL: practicing web development using a domain purchased as a joke to be able to say I got mine for a billionth the price

social media used to be simple:

• you followed people you actually wanted to hear from
• you saw their posts in the order they posted them
• you could have real conversations without being buried by algorithms
• your data wasn't sold to the highest bidder

It's also a love letter to the idea of the web as a gorgeous canvas, if you can dream it you can create it with a little hard work, html, and a host!

Why Am I Doing This?

honestly it started as a joke, but I don't know how to relax and now it's spiraled into this huge horrible thing.

i'm just a regular developer who believes social media can be better. you don't have to be a tech genius to see that chronological feeds work better than algorithmic ones!

Who's Behind This?

howdy! i'm a developer from michigan. i'm not trying to become a billionaire or build the next mega-platform. i just want to create a space where people can connect authentically.

Is This Sustainable?

great question! the beauty of not chasing infinite growth is that we don't need billions of users to be successful. In fact, a smaller but more engaged community is actually preferable here.

financially speaking, this is all paid for by the one guy. since there are only like three users there's only a marginal cost, if there was to be a fourth or fifth user we may start having money problems 😂
